Dimraeth Beginner Guide: Your First Two Hours
Dimraeth is a Souls-lite action RPG with a farming and base-building game attached to it. The two halves feed each other: you fight to gather, you go home to craft, and what you build makes the next fight easier. This guide covers the five decisions that matter most before you have any idea what you are doing.
1. Your race and class pairing is an economic decision
Mudtek advertises 8 races x 6 classes = 48 Archetypes, each with its own skill tree. What the store page does not say is that the pairing also sets the scaling cost of your attributes, from the studio’s own spell devlog:
How you upgrade your attributes largely depends on the race and class that you pick, because those factors determine the scaling cost. So if you pick fairy magician you probably won’t be getting spells that require a lot of physique.
Universal spells are bought as spellbooks and gated behind attribute thresholds. So your pairing quietly decides which half of the spell pool stays reachable for the whole run. Pick for the spells you want, not the silhouette.
At launch the confirmed options are Human, Minotaur and Elf crossed with Brawler, Magician and Shadow — see races and classes for what is confirmed against what is only named in a forum post.
2. Stamina is your real health bar
Combat is commitment-based: read the telegraph, then choose to strike, dodge, block or parry. All of it costs stamina, and the parry description contains the rule that catches people out — if stamina breaks mid-parry, the remaining damage lands on your health.
Demo players who finished the game still called stamina their biggest problem. Budget it like health, not like sprint. Full breakdown in the combat guide.
3. Learn the three things the tutorial does not say
These accounted for most demo drop-outs, and none of them are difficulty:
- The tent quest: press B, hover an existing tent, hold SPACE to dismantle. You do not gather materials, you recycle structures.
- Water: craft it from slime at a crafting table.
- Campfire recipes: shift-click ingredients into the station.
Each with its source in the getting started guide.
4. Cook before you leave
Meals restore hunger and grant buffs. There are eight campfire recipes, and the ingredients — beast meat, critter meat, droop cores, tenderberry, thaumablossom — come from the areas you are about to walk into, so the loop only starts once you have been out and back. The full recipe list has all 48 across the four stations.
5. Five spells at a time, so plan the set
You equip five spells, and the interesting part is the modifiers. Aimed Shot can apply bleed, convert that bleed to poison, or stop piercing and knock enemies back instead — three different spells wearing one name. Named set pieces then rewrite specific spells again at specific tiers.
Browse the 46 documented spells and pick a direction before you spend skill points, because Early Access ships with a skill tree overhaul and respec rules have not been published.
What to expect from Early Access
Dimraeth enters Early Access on 15 September 2026, level cap 25, raised with each new act. Mudtek’s stated targets for the full game are 30-40 hours of quests plus repeatable endgame, and a max level around 60 — those are goals, not shipped content. A developer estimated the price at “around 20 USD” but no final figure has been published.
If you are deciding whether to buy on day one, the early reception page collects what is measurable — wishlists, demo numbers, awards and the specific criticisms demo players raised — without pretending anyone has reviewed the game yet.
Thanks for the feedback!
